My Appearance on FOX Business Yesterday

As those of you who follow me on Twitter already know, I have been on an extensive media tour with appearances on the Today Show, CNN, FOX, etc. Yesterday I stopped by FOX Business Network to discuss the implications of value-added and flat taxes. CNN News: Tax Filing Tips

Last week, I appeared on CNN news to provide tax filing tips to help get taxpayers prepared for the upcoming April 15^th deadline. IRS Health Care Oversight

I made an appearance on Fox Business news this morning to discuss the IRS’ new health care related responsibilities including individual mandates and enforcing penalties for businesses that do not provide coverage. CNN Headline News Appearance

I was interviewed last Friday during a segment on CNN’s Headline News. During my appearance I offered general tax season advice and also explained how the IRS is going to be extra aggressive to recoup lost revenue. Recent Television Appearances

Over the past week, I have made a couple of television appearances on both FOX News and the FOX Business Network. I uploaded all of the videos to my YouTube channel, and have embedded them below for you all to view.

The first two videos are part one and two of my segment that aired on FOX Business yesterday morning. I joined a handful of other tax experts to discuss the UN’s 64^th annual general assembly, and shared my views on the costs of cap and trade reform.

I also appeared on FOX News’s Fox and Friends over the weekend to discuss President Obamas tax changes, and reminisce on his tax policy campaign promises. Checkout the full video below.

Over the weekend, I made another appearance on FOX Business Network’s “Money for Breakfast.” During the segment, I discussed the recent drop in federal revenue and recent tax trends. In case you missed it, I uploaded the appearance to my YouTube channel.

A 2009 Tax-Time Interview with Roni Deutch

I recently did an interview with The Agony Column’s Rick Kleffel, and provided tax tips for people who used to work in corporate jobs, and are now working as part-time artists and/or entrepreneurs. You can listen to the full MP3 here, or find the author’s summary below:

As an interviewer, I try to avoid agendas when getting ready to speak with an interviewee. If someone wants to know in advance what questions I'm going to ask, I'll inform them that they'll hear them when I speak them in the interview. I research the work, write up the questions and present them on the spot. But for Roni Deutch, I took a different approach.

It's tax time and I didn't want to have an interview that was as long as the tax law books and just as boring and unfocused. I told Roni that when we spoke, I'd be asking her about a very specific situation — I wanted tax information for those of us who had heretofore worked in pretty much simple, corporate jobs but had ended up working as part-time artists and entrepreneurs. It's pretty much a shock to go from handing over a couple of W-2s — or entering them into some horrific tax program — to keeping track of expenses, knowing what you can deduct and even just preparing to collect all the crap you need to present to person qualified to complete the paperwork for you. Deutch nails every bit of advice you need in about 20 hard-driving minutes, which you can hear via this linked MP3 file.

Radio Appearances This Week

This week, I will be featured on two different radio shows to talk about taxes. Today, I will be on the Thom Hartmann radio program at noon, to offer tax advice and take questions from callers. I will also be promoting my book and offering tax advice on Oprah and Friends radio with Jean Chatzky this Friday. Be sure to check your local listings and listen in for free tax advice!
